Outboard up or down when at the dinghy dock? – Cruisers & Sailing …

I've noticed at the local dinghy dock that most people leave the outboard on their tender down in the water , rather than tilted up and out. This is even the case for the tenders that go several days.

Dinghy Name? – Cruisers & Sailing Forums

Do most people label their dingy/tender with a name? If so is it required? I know my state (RI) requires reg numbers on both sides but I havent investigated a name yet.

In Miami Beach there’s this ledge along the canal where most people tie up, that does a great job at sinking dinks. Basically tide goes out, dinghy floats under ledge, tide comes back in, dinghy stays.
